Frog Tattoos

For the shamans, the frog is seen as a teacher a creature that guides everyone into understanding higher powers.

Frog tattoos are also seen as symbols of adaptability and wisdom. The frog is an amphibious creature able to thrive on land or in water. It is transformed from a tiny tadpole to a frog and able to spawn thousands of new tadpoles. These characteristics of the frog have inspired humans to revere it.

In mythology, the frog is a sacred animal for it is a symbol of life and protector of souls journeying through the afterlife. Because of this, many royal tombs contained embalmed frogs placed before their caskets. In China, the green frog is a deity and many temples were built to honor it. A frog with a coin on its mouth is also considered as a symbol of prosperity and can be found in many businesses and establishments. In Japan, the frog is a symbol of energy and perseverance.

Frog tattoos are suitable for a person who wants to embody life, fertility, harmony and licentiousness. There are hundreds of frog tattoos to choose from and many ways to personalize it. They can be cute, elegant, fun and personal. They can be done in a simple green and black ink, or in multiple, fun colors. Frog tattoos would make a great feet tattoo or ankle tattoo.
