Gecko Tattoos
Geckos are believed to bring supernatural powers and are regarded by the Polynesians with fear and awe. The Polynesians were probably the ones who pioneered in gecko tattoos. They are small to average sized lizards found in warm climates throughout the world. Their vocalizations make them unique among lizards because they make chirping sounds as a way of interacting with other geckos. There is about two thousand specie of geckos that exist, many of them are still undiscovered. Gecko tattoos symbolize the principle of letting go and protection. When geckos are in danger, they drop their tails in order to escape it.
